JONATHAN SIMPSON i managing director

Jonathan has 15 years of experience in Commercial Security across East and Central Africa with a particular focus on South Sudan. He served in the British Army with operations in Northern Ireland and Afghanistan, before leaving as a Captain in 2006. Since then he has played an integral part in establishing and building organisations across Africa and delivering security services to a range of clients from United Nations, international NGOs, tier one oil & gas companies and multinationals.

cAMILLA HARRIES I COMMERCIAL MANAGER

Camilla leads Archer’s commercial team and specializes in tender management and business development. She is responsible for customer experience and contract operations. She hails from Kenya and was educated in London, attaining a 2.1 Human Geography from King’s College with a specialization in feminist development in Africa. Starting her career in the humanitarian sector, Camilla later joined the security industry and has experience in South Sudan, DR Congo, Kenya and Tanzania. She has most recently completed an MBA, and is currently working towards a CSMP.

JOHN DAVIES I DIRECTOR

JD has worked in South Sudan, DRC, Tanzania, Somalia and Kenya, on the senior executive team of a major regional risk and security company, before launching Archer. In 2017, he was elected to the board of the International Code of Conduct Association for private security service providers (ICoCA) as a Director of the Security Industry Pillar, and chaired the certification committee. He is fully versed in security related certifications including ISO 18788 and PSC.1 and their context within the human rights arena.

DR. MICHAEL GRIEVES I HEAD OF RISK

Mike has been at the forefront of international security operations for over 30 years, inclusive of a military background. Mike leads with Archer’s risk monitoring services, liaising with corporate, law enforcement, government and non-government bodies in line with industry best practices. He is a seasoned intelligence and risk management practitioner, working with clients of all types, including INGOs, Government and corporate organisations.  Clients have included: (USAID) implementing partners, (DFID), British Embassy, (JICA), (GIZ), Department of Defence (DoD) and (BTME)

Taban Swaib I OPERATIONS MANAGER

Taban is an accomplished senior security professional with over 10 years of experience within South Sudan, having worked at some of the highest profile client sites including the United Nations Mission. A South Sudanese national, Taban has an innate understanding of the complexities of running security operations across multiple sites. He is skilled in training and development, health and safety, crime prevention, and manpower management.

GIDEON IRANYA I FIELD SECURITY MANAGER

Iranya is a highly innovative, competent, hardworking, and committed and result oriented security operations professional with over ten years’ experience in commercial security operations. He has the ability to work independently and as part of team, and, very good interpersonal and communication skills with high sensitivity to socio-cultural dynamics. Iranya has experience with various international NGOs, including Catholic Relief Services, and most recently he was the dedicated project manager to Norwegian People’s Aid in northern Jonglei state.
